Pps05, Skype latestI love the latest Skype app, there has been a significant improvement in the audio and video quality since the last big release. Although when using it for the first time you would wonder what the new icons are for and whether it’s become complicated, but u get an understanding on repeat use. The only concern is whether the not so techie older generation will struggle because of the many features spread from different areas in the app.I also like the snapshot and recording feature and use it quite often, so that I can keep memories of many in the moment chats. The only complain I have is that the app always records the video half n half, I would like the option of seeing less of myself and more of the loved ones in the recordings.

Seems to me that despite the overall quality being pretty excellent there are far too many unnecessary changes. I think it would be fair to say that this app has been a great way for family to keep in touch ( now I expect my parents and many more senior citizens will struggle to get to grips with it) especially as the experience of seeing your relatives in real time is brilliant when they are so far away often abroad. I myself might manage to decipher the inclusive emojis, screen shots, split screen, and many more unnecessary changes, and I will definitely be in demand to explain it to my parents and other more senior friends. WHY WAS IT SO NECESSARY TO CHANGE IT? The old adage of “If its not broken why fix it “ comes to mind. I will try and get with the program and perhaps I will try and understand why you have to continually change in order to fit in with modernity, but Please, don’t keep making it harder for those of us that want a bit of simplicity without having to face the constant changes that YOU THE BOFFINS anticipate that we need in our lives.

We Really Don’t.xx. MarthurPuppy, Just, no.Update after update after update the Skype app just gets worse and worse and worse. From not loading new messages to not even alerting that a new message has been sent for hours. It spends most of it’s time “Connecting.” or just outright refuse’s to connect or refresh even if you log-out and sign back in. Which brings onto another point we’re the “app” just randomly log’s you out without any warning or reason even during a Skype Call something I’ve never experienced in the 6-7years I’ve previously used Skype and has only been getting worse since Microsoft started becoming more and more “involved” with Skype.Even as I write this, my Skype lost connection, signed me out and is now unable to sign me back into my account, instead just crashes completely during loading! How this “app” has a rating as high of 3.9 by now is a miracleEdit: within a day of writing this, MS locked my account without telling me a reason and are ignoring the now 3 tickets I’ve written asking why my account has been locked.
