Driver Hp Scanjet G3010 Xp
Details: iMac OS 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard), HP Scanjet G3010.Problem: iMac was OS 10.5 (Leopard). I installed the G3010 and no problem. IMac (some how) was 'upgraded' to OS 19.6 (how is a mystery to me, I never purchased any upgrade). The HP software that came with the G3010 only supports OS 10.5. The HP website says to upgrade to 10.6 compatibility install/reinstall original OS 10.5 software, run the scanner to check for compatibility and one can then upgrade to OS 10.6 compatibility. The difficulty is it is impossible to get compatibility with the 10,5 version. HP does not seem to have a direct download for the 10.6 compatibility.I know the sacnner and the iMac are talking as on start up the scanner makes its 'start up noises'.
But then when I try to open the scanning software I get an error message that there is no HP scanner found. So how do I get the HP upgrade? Since it seem to be online via getting the scanner 'compatible'?Thank you anyone who tries to help!Thomas. First a thank you to Bob, as I had seen the link to upgrading the HP driver for 10.6. But a day later I could not find it and it was driving me to frustration. Embarrassed as it was there, almost hiding in plain sight.I have downloaded it, upgraded my HP G3010 driver successfully.
That's the good news. The bad news is the scanner still can not 'be found' by my iMac. I had hoped it was a software matter that could be addressed. But, it seems the scanner is the problem, and probably either not fixable, or not cost effective to fix it.' P' thank you for the info. I will watch out for that in the future. I am leery of upgrades as they often lead to difficulties in my experience.especially with iPads!Any recommendations for a new flatbed scanner in $100 range?
I write books on Arizona history and I need a flatbed for scanning maps, e.g., topos. Torrent bully scholarship edition pc fr. I liked the G3010 as the 'lid' lifted to the back and not to the side which is necessary for what I do.
