HiI have read a few confusing posts (for other series) about this subject and can anyone clarify the situation for me?The car is 2004 645Ci with Sat Nav Pro installed and an old disc, I can purchase a 2011 sat nav disc for £30 from a guy named Rusty. He sent me this when I emailed him;'.Hi ok you need the 2011 pro dvd that gives you full EU maps speed cameras& 5 digit postcode search you may require a software update done by BMW to get the best from theDVD.' That seems an open ended potentially expensive optionI then phoned Sytner parts, they like to charge £170 for the disc, then the parts guy says, BUT you may need a software update to run the disc - similar story, but equally open ended, he said you can't just update the sat nav system the whole car's software gets updated. An important side issue here, if the car has been re-mapped, then a BMW dealer updates the software does that remove the re-mapping?.I read a comment on a thread that says a 645 (2004) owner has a 2009 disc and it updates the software itself, no need to have an expensive update by BMWI just want an upto date UK sat nav without getting mired in updates and reprogramming at the dealerships.Advice, as always, most appreciatedCheersJim.
